Ruth Henneberry has practiced in the area of insurance litigation for more than 20 years.
Ruth has a large personal injury practice representing insurers in motor vehicle and slip and fall claims. She has a long and successful track record on accident benefits mediations and arbitrations.
Ruth also advises automobile insurers and insurance organizations on the policy implications of changes to the Insurance Act and Regulations.
In addition, she has lead seminars for the Insurance Institute of Ontario and various property & casualty insurers. She is a featured contributor to Canadian Insurance and Without Prejudice magazines.
Ruth also practices in the area of construction deficiency, contractor's liability and products’ liability claims. She has been counsel on some of Canada's largest property losses, appearing for both primary and excess insurers and on subrogation files.
Ruth has expertise in medical and pharmaceutical claims against manufacturers.
Ruth was counsel for the successful excess insurers in the famous Lafarge Cement case in both the Ontario Superior Court of Justice and the Ontario Court of Appeal.
She is a graduate of Dalhousie Law School and has her Mediation and Arbitration certification through the Ontario Mediation and Arbitration Institute. She is a member of the Defence Research Institute, Canadian Defence Lawyers Association and the Metropolitan Toronto Law Association.
